Position Summary
The Client Success Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring an exceptional client experience throughout the firm’s control audit engagements. This position serves as the primary liaison between clients and the audit team, providing proactive communication, coordinating deliverables, and supporting clients as they navigate SOC, SOX, and internal control audit processes. The ideal candidate combines strong project coordination skills, a service-first mindset, and the ability to understand audit workflows within a CPA firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients throughout the control audit lifecycle.
- Establish strong, trust-based relationships focused on responsiveness, clarity, and client education.
- Conduct onboarding sessions to walk clients through audit timelines, expectations, and required documentation.
- Monitor client satisfaction and escalate concerns to ensure timely resolution.
Engagement Coordination
- Partner with audit managers and engagement teams to track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure clients receive timely reminders, status updates, and support throughout the audit process.
- Assist clients in understanding evidence requests, portal navigation, and audit requirements.
- Coordinate internal team resources and schedule client meetings as needed.
Documentation & Workflow Support
- Maintain accurate client records, correspondence, and status updates in CRM, audit portals, and project management systems.
- Review client submissions for completeness before routing them to the audit team.
- Support the preparation and delivery of audit reports and final documentation.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline client touchpoints and improve operational efficiency.
- Gather client feedback and collaborate with leadership to enhance service processes, templates, and communication standards.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles, client resources, and onboarding materials.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in client success, account management, audit support, or professional services coordination.
- Strong understanding of audit processes—preferably SOC, SOX, ITGC, or other internal control frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-first approach.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM tools, project management software, and audit portals.
Preferred
- Experience working in a CPA firm or consulting environment.
- Familiarity with SOC frameworks, cybersecurity, internal controls, or compliance-driven audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Communications, or related field.
